Headlight short circuit

I have a 2001 clk320 and while replacing my headlight bulb the electrical connector touched the metal on my car while the light was on and short circuit the wire. Do I need to replace the whole headlight assembly? can I just replace the wire and connector that attach to the bulb? please help. The headlight assembly is expensive!!!

Have you checked to see if only a fuse was blown?

Ahhh! Thank you!

Thank you gregory13lil! It took me about 15 minutes to find the fuse and that was the key! Now I don't have to spend Saturday night at home! I have already been pulled by the police 3 times in less than a week!!!
I changed the fuse and I am back in business.
Thank you!
