Car doesnt start first key turn...
Biggest problem ive had with the 98 CLK just started recently. I turn the key, and it cranks once and doesnt turn on. Checked it out at the shop, and as far as we can tell there is no problem with the starter.
Could it be somethign with the laser key or that assembly?

It happened to me 2 weeks ago, and my dealer fix it right away.

Let us know if that doesn't fix the problem. I had this happen for about 4 weeks when I first got mine and discovered a bulletin that addressed the need for grease on the starter ring(?). My mechanic lubed it once and the problem hasn't happened since.
Good luck!

My 99 CLK was in the shop last week for the same problem (in addition to the downshift trouble I've been dealing with for 3 years). They arrived at the same diagnosis but had to order the grease.
