CLK 320 new that died on the fwy
A friend of mine got a 2002 CLK 320. That day with only 72 miles the car died on the fwy. It smoked a bit and just died. Tele Aid sent a tow truck and it was gone to the dealer. A few days later the dealer said that a fuse for the siloniod went out in the transmission. That it is fine. Is it really fine? It smoked and I would think that if a car dies within the first few hours that you should be able to get it replaced. Am I wrong to think that there might be some other damage caused by this malfunction? That they should take the time to check the tranmission as it siezed up, shuttered, then smoked to a stop? Did anyone else have this problem? MB north america said this is their policy. To just fix problems, thats what a warranty is for. Makes me wonder. It was only bought for a few hours. Should you have a right to ask for another car? I thought so. Input anyone?

How come your friend is not complaining?
If the dealership's response is acceptable to him, no car exchange is going to happen, no matter how much YOU complain. :o

She did complain. Of course it is not acceptable. I went with her the second day after she had already tried the first day and the dealer was not listening to her. Also I have owned a MB in the past and I still have one and my family drives MB's so she asked me for my help. I just feel bad that I could not help her much. I talked to the service foreman and he was understanding but the general manager was not. Then MB North America said no when we brought them into the picture.
