It was a pot hole in the middle of the highway, doing about 85mph. Not a curb.

Can I do anything to the city? Or its not worth it. I was thinking to go up there and take a pic of the pot hole.

sure you can sue the city for the pot hole and you will get a check about the same time the SL800 is released

actually, when i bent two of my rims, I went after the city, sent them pictures, filled out their forms, got receipts, etc etc. Within one week they called me to settle and offered me about 3/4 of what I claimed. I got a check in the mail about 2 weeks after that, so in total, it took me about 3 weeks

you cant touch the city

you wont be able to touch NYC for your rims. Just shell out the 140 or 200 and be done with it

the time it takes for the city to pay you back really depends on what city it is... i know in So Cal like in Beverly Hills, they are a little quicker at paying claims... although i haven't heard of a 3 week turnaround time... that is indeed fast

news....

if you havent been paying attention to the news, NYC is in a huge budget defecit. I doubt they will pay the claim at all and it will take more of your time than the $200 is worth to fix the rim.

You can file a complaint but dont get your hopes up.

Also, i think theres a law where they have a week or two to fix the pothole after it cause damage. If they don't fix it after that time then they might be obligated to pay? Not really sure about that one.

naw, this didn't happen in New York. it happened in San Francisco. I was surprised that they responded to my complaint so quickly, considering the size of the city.

About a couple of months ago, a fellow member posted that he bent a mag on a NYC pothole and made a claim(with who, I don't know) and he stated he got compensated. The amount I am unsure of, but nonetheless, he stated he got something in return. Do a search and maybe it'll show up. It was in the w208 forum. Sorry I cannot be of more help and good luck...

calm down, don't wet your pants. I was basically comparing two major cities buddy. If I was talking about a small surburban city, THAT would be a different story. I'm basically saying "Hey buddy, I got compensated even though I filed against a big major city, maybe you can too"

Re: lol

Yeah, i was also referring to Henry when I posted that not you. Right now I dont believe you can compare any "Major City" to New York. New York is in a class by itself without taking into consideration the 8 million people there.
