Spacer Problem
Spacer Problem
Just installed some 5mm H&R spacers on the rear of my 99 cabriolet.I run 19X9.5 HRE wheels in the back. Bought exactly what the site told me to get and got 35mm extended bolts. When the tires spin there is a clicking noise now. What is the problem?? Any help is appreciated.

its rubbing. Roll the fender.
If its not it, make sure FIRST the bolt is not too long.
It happened to mine but i got 19x8.5 and 15mm spacer.(had to roll my fender)
make sure u get a wheel lock so they dont steal your rims

Mr. Mike's second diagnosis is correct. If it was the tire rubbing the fender, it'd make a different sound than clicking.
Definitely, your bolts are too long in the rear and hitting the ebrake. Don't let this go on too long or you'll need to replace the ebrake parts. 28mm is supposedly the standard length for aftermarket wheels, so adding 28mm + 5mm spacer = 33mm bolt. Either grind them down a few mm or get shorter ones. RADUSAdirect.com has 29.5mm and 34mm. Obviously, if you get the 34mm you'll need to grind those down as well so personally, I'd just get the 29.5mm and not have to grind them down and call it a day. Phil @ RADUSA is a good guy to work with and hands down, RAD's bolts are the best in the industry.

I had the same problem as you when I used a 5mm spacer so I just grabbed a 10mm and and my wheels became more flush. I then realized that the lugs were too long too. Goodluck n post up pics!
