Hi everyone,
I am looking for someone with some audio knowledge for MB car radios!
I have just plugged a Audio 30 APS (A208 part number - BE4716) in my W208 CLK which initially had an Audio 10 (BE3100 Cassette) without CD changer and Bose amp. Everything works, but not the navigation because of the speed pulse, the GPS antenna is fine and the car is located correctly, the navigation has been calibrated for the car and tyre size entered...
I assumed that the Audio 30 would read the speed pulse signal directly from the CAN-Bus! So here is the question: does the Audio 30 APS (Becker BE4716) requires the analogue signals for the speed pulse, the reverse and the lights or does it reads the CAN-Bus digital signals?
In other words: should I go to the dealership for a bit of programming so that the CAN-Bus signals are understood by the radio? Or should I tap into all these wires?
So far the CAN-Bus tells my radio when to start and stop, it also enables the steering wheel controls and I don't know about the light (to dim or light the display), I haven't checked yet.
Any help would be appreciated !
Thanks to all,
Renaud

If you installed a non-COMAND equipped CLK with a COMAND, it is my understanding the dealer (or someone) will have to use a STAR box to turn on the COMAND feature.
I will have to go to the dealer at some point for the navigation visual info (next intersection, please turn right!) to be displayed in the instrument cluster at the moment it is displayed only on the radio. So I guess I should ask them next time I go.
