Driver's side mirror control
The previous owner of my 2001 320CLK had an accident that required the driver's side rearview mirror to be replaced (along with the door skin). Whoever did the work screwed up the install in that the up/down control on that side is reversed. When I set the switch for the passenger side it works correctly (forward down, back up) when I set it to the driver's side it is reversed (forward down, back up).
My shop says that I need to change a mirror control module (for about $300 plus $150 labor). For almost $500 I can live with this anomaly, but it seems that the wires that control up/down to that mirror could be reversed (either at the switch or at the mirror) and the problem would be solved. Anyone have the knowledge (and or wiring diagrams/wire colors) to accomplish this?
Also does anyone have instructions (and maybe photos) on how to remove control switch in shift console (preferably without damaging wood)
Not critical but annoying, an inexpensive fix would be worth doing, for $500 it is not.
