2000 Clk 430 running like *** PLS HELP
hi there so i have a 2000 clk430 and i was having problems with my maf so i bought a cheapo one on ebay and it seemed like it fixed the problem. so i kept driving my car and then all of the sudden it felt like it had no power at about 2000rpm and when i was trying to go over i was hearing like a rattling under my car. so i hooked up my ob2 read and got a couple codes. thy are random misfire and and cylinder 6 misfire. so i read up on line and people said it could be the maf so i went back to the stock one and still having the same problem. i was wanting to know if anyone has heard of something like this please help. i am sorry that this isnt the best write up lol but i am not good at this lol. thanks for ur time

Sounds like the MAF to me. A real Bosch MAF is $150.

It's not uncommon for cheap no-name parts that are asembled in unsupervised third world plants to have a higher total cost of ownership. There's a guy in the C43 section who was ready to dump his heap because it wasn't running. Turns out his "ultra low cost fuel filter" decided two months was long enough and it came apart. The bad filter dropped fuel pressure to the point where is wouldn't run under a load.
The point? Do it right, do it once. Do it cheap and you may do it several times before giving up and hosting a fire sale.
