Buying CLK430 Next Week-- Need Advice
Is there anything in particular that I should especially check out prior to buying?
The owner says that all of the service was done on time at the Mercedes dealership, but does not have any of the records on-hand. Is there a way for me to contact Mercedes to get these records?
There is only one key available. Approximately what is the cost for another key, including programming for this car?

you have been on the site for over 2 years and have 1 post?

Take the VIN to the dealer and you can check the records. Or if you are present with the owner have him call the dealer and tell them who he is then get on the phone and have them go over the records with you.
I was fortunate enough to have a local friend that was a deal. He loaned me a paint meter. It measures how thick the paint is on each piece of the vehicle. Doesnt matter what it reads, just so they all measure about the same. If a panel comes up thick (reads alot more then the others) then you can deduce that it was painted and probably in some type of accident.
This really saved my *** when I went to look at my vehicle.
The paint meters are not cheap, but after how much time $ and potential frustration this thing saved me I went and bought my own.

This might not be the info you were looking for, but it DID save me...so I wanted to pass it on.
Good luck! If you get a good one - you will love it forever!
