subframe bushing

anyone with any experience with the rear subframe bushings. is it easy to change or how its done. thanks.

You need to lower the rear subframe down and press out/in the bushings with the proper tool. I have only done it a couple times, and lowered the subframe both times to have easy access to pressing in/out the bushings.

how many bushings are there?

02 CLK430
2 front and 2 rear(one on each corner)....unless u also count the bushings for the diff (another two bushings).

cool brother thank you. now how hard is it to drop the subframe, or do i just have to lower it? do i have to take anything off to lower the subframe?

From off the top of my head you need to: disconnect driveshaft from the diff. Unbolt the calipers from the hub and support them. Unbolt sway bar from the endlinks. Unbolt the shock at the a-arm. And I think Unbolt the speed sensors from the hub. I recommend getting it out so you have plenty of room to work.

if you dont have the press tool you can use fire. just be carefull.
