2001 CLK430 Alarm System ?

2001 CLK430 Alarm System ?
Hi guys im from Australia and have a 2001 CLK430 Avantgarde. Might sound like a stupid question but im starting to wonder if it has a alarm or not.
When i lock and unlock the car, the lights just flash but no sound. Have tried locking the car with window down and then open the door from inside and no alarm sounds or lights flash.
Have checked all fuses and there all there and working.
Is there anyway to check if i actaully have the alarm installed ? does anyone know the location of the alarm module or siren on my car to check ? and if it is there, what could the problem be ?
it does not have motion sensor or tow away buttons on the console.

1999 CLK 320
I have the same problem with my 99 clk320. I think it's the siren which is located under the headlight on the driver's side. I just oredered one for $117.00. I will let you know when it comes in if it fixes the problem. I have attached a link of where it is located.
