sorry to continue off topic, but cingular sucks.. i cant even begin to tell you how poor their service is. every phone call i make, i get system busy msg at least five times before the call goes through. if i had 50 cents back for everytime i got system busy or a call got cut off w/ system busy msg, they would be paying me to use their lousy service.

I agree but...
All my friends use Cingular....and I already have the service....my car came with Verizon, but I want to get rid of one of the two. Do you know if Cigular is even offered on the Mercedes phones?

You'll need a new phone
My stepmom has Cingular in her '01 E430. MB sells 3 or 4 different timeports to cover the different type of networks. They know which model phone works on which network/provider. I imagine your Verizon is CDMA dual band phone and you will probably need a TDMA dual band phone for Cingular. Your dealer will probably charge about $500-600 for this replacement. It's probably cheaper to switch your provider to Verizon since you already have the phone that works on their network.
