D@M I miss the 8's. I think it was the best car BMW ever made and I'm still pissed they got rid of it You can get one in Japan for about 4K now but the price here for upkeep isn't worth it.

1. that lip won't work with yours, you need the lip for the post 2005 w209 amg 55 bumper.

2. dont buy the ebay lips they are very cheaply made, the only lip i recomend buying is to search aound and find a double layer Carbon Fiber lip, not just the fiberglass with carbon overlay, ecause the first hit and its done. they are far more expensive probably around $500 to $800 range but worthed because they use Epoxy ressin rather than fiberglass ressin which is much stronger because of it;s thinckness and felexibility and also doesnt fade because they are UV protected.

I was hoping to run my custom bumper for a few more months unchalleged yet!

I had mine made from an '07 CLK 55 after I wrote my front end off in a crash back in January. I've had the bumper since Mar '11.

I'm undecided whether to put 'Halo' headlights in or not (I had cheese graters before).

Your car would look fanastic with the mods your planning. How soon till it's all completed?

Thanks Ash I'll do the research for where I can get the CF Lip. So glad you corrected me because I almost bought it. Even so I would have just sold it on the Japanese market and doubled or tripped my ROI. Parts in Japan run 2-3 times the cost of what it does in the US.

Personally I like the cheese graters over the Halos. The clear lens OE type headlights would look nice too I think. At first I wanted the Halos but I changed my mind because it screams BMW, just like I would not want to run the Lambo doors for the same reason.

Ash is making custom grills for my fogs so when ever I get those then I'll put my bumper on. I don't want to put it on partially done.

whatsup Pauljay, good to see you back brother, bumper is looking good. it looks like i started a trend ha? lol. anyways, my new bumper will be ready soon, its something completly different than the ones ive done before but thats as much as i can say for now, i also did a new custom mod to the hood(not hood vents). the car will be going into paint in the next 3 weeks and once its out it will be looking completly different inside and out. ALL MODS DONE WITH OEM PARTS

THATS WHAT I DID TO MY 2001 CLK430 WHEN I CRASHED THE ORIGENAL BUMPER.

I CUT THE MIDLE PART OF THE BUMPER AND CUSTOM MADE AN AMG SING FROM SHEET METAL AND FITED 2 LED STRIPS INSIDE.

Thanks Pauljay, yes i have a custom back in te works too, it involves a CLK Black series diffuser, i posted some pics a while ago but now it looks much different as well as my custom hood. i will have everything done shortly and post pictures.

LOL, make sure thats a big bowl of popcorn Paul, its gonna be about a month. but its a complete overhaul of inside and out. By the way a friend of mine does machining work for brembo and a bunch of brake companies, he is making me custom hats to run the AMG brakes on mine as a direct bolt on, i'll keep you posted. the backs i know is not gonna be a problem at all but the front, i want to run the 8 pots as bolt on without any modification except the dust shield but we'll see.

@VIP: great job Ash on the work!! I like the updated spacing between the lights and the bottom of the bumper. Definitely, by matching the resting point of the new version 3build3 to the OEM w208 bumpers, there shouldnt be any problems with how low it sits.
