remote start for w208 clk
I am looking into a remote start system for my 2001 CLK55. I found this system which is $799 and uses the factory key fob:

Does anyone know if there is a less expensive solution? I'd prefer to use the stock key fob, but would consider another fob if necessary.

this topic was discussed at length a couple of years ago and you may have to do a search to find it but if memory serves me, many tried aftermarket remotes and many failed because of compatability issues with the oem theft electronics. I think MB has a unit but, you guessed it, its pretty pricy.
