A few w208 clk problems and questions...

my manual 1999 clk has lost its handbrake it pushes right to the floor , no warming there was a problem it just "went" can anyone point me in a direction for things to check.
i read that there is a plate under the rear seats thats where the cable splits to the rears wheels from is that right? and how do i lift up the rear seats to check?

Also my front shocks i thing are the originals and at 140000 miles on the clock i would think they are due replacment , is this just a matter of jacking car up unbolting the shock and replacing it , i know there are other safety things etc , but i dont have to remove or unbolt any other items?

is there a simple mod to increase the power from the car at all ? my work has a machine shop , would anyone be able to provide a drawing of a pully mod so they can make it?
