When I inspected my old mount, after removing it, I was unable to find any visible deterioration. Saying that, I have read that the rubber, over time, will harden, and the mount will lose it dampening qualities, but, as far a visible deterioration, I saw nothing. In fact, after I squirted it with some 409 and cleaned, it looked very nice.
I use a pneumatic ratchet that spins the bolts off nicely. A creeper helps, too. This job does not really involve jerking the vehicle. Take your time. Order the correct parts. Good luck.
