Changed tires (235/45/17) and now cruise control issues
Hey guys,
So I had to buy tires since my old front pair were going bald, and I couldn't find any decent used ones anywhere in my city. The last place I went to had a pair of 235/45/17 continentals (excellent condition) and the guy said they would fit on my car.
I've heard of issues relating to my odometer not reading my speed correctly, is that true?
Also, my cruise control isn't working, but after reading through the forum I guess it has to do with the difference in diameter between my front and rear tires.
Just wanted to ask if a) my odometer will display the correct speed, b) are there any other issues that may arise from having 235/45s and c) if there is any way of fixing the cruise control issue without needing to get 225s.
Thanks!

With a Conti Extreme Contact, the difference between a 235/45/17 and a 225/45/17 is less than one half of one percent. Your speedo will be fine. Depending on how worn your rear tires are, the cruise control may be fine too. Thats assuming your rear tires have the OE rolling diameter.

MarcusF,
Thanks for the reply. I have 245/40s in the back, and the tires are actually Continental ContiContact (I believe that's what they're called).
The cruise control is working below 50mph, but not over. Rear tires are Michelin Pilot Sport 2s with about 70% tread remaining.

PS2 have 841 revs per mile while EtremeContacts are at 824. That's about a 2.1% difference. The wear in the rear will add to that difference.
I have no idea at what point your cruise will be impacted. I don know the speedo looks at all four wheels, and if they are out of synch it uses the left front.
