hello everyone, if you need to order parts go to mbonlineparts.com and order from them or call them and talk to Anne Marie, the best prices i have ever seen and the shipping charge was basically free for the amount of stuff i ordred. best customer service ever and i have doubt with many oe sources. Trust me talk to them and you see what i mean, they are also a sponser of the fourms and if you mentione the fourms they will give you a discount on the shipping as well.

I don't mean to burst any bubbles, and VIPclk320 has some very good postings, and it's certainly a great idea to stay away from the dealership parts counter, but, I don't agree.

Just compared OEM prices on several of the parts I bought over the last few months (hit a dear) with Parts.com, and mbonlineparts.com is substantially more expensive. Every OEM parts was less expensive at Parts.com. The parts.com mb parts provider is an MB dealership in Naperville, Illinois. I've talked to them numberous times re. parts numbers, etc. They are a big help, and have very, very good OEM prices and diagrams--better prices than mbonlineparts.com. Compare:

Re.: 2000 430CLK
...............Mbonlineparts............Parts.com
Hood ...............$603.75............$487.20
Front Fender.....$214.50............$171.60

Bumper cover...$603.75............$482.40
Fog lamp..........$121.50............$97.20

Most sites do price matching so if you bring that up more than likely they will meet or beat.
That's been my experience.

on some oarts parts.com is a few dollars cheaper but their shipping charge is what gets you and their service sucks crap. the shipping charge for this site is a hell of a lot cheaper and faster and if you mention mbworld.org they even give you further discount on shipping. i picked up $500 worth of stuff about 80 pieces because i', replacing all my clips and plastics and weather stripings and the shipping was $20 and they had to send everything in two very large packages almost my hight because of a few large plastic covers that i ordered and the trunk carpet. i cheacked the same order from parts.com and my total for the exact same thing came out to $195 more. now thats a bug difference.

Hmm, seems that Parts.com saves one $405.75. That's a nice chunk of change. That's two Pirelli P Zero's. Opinions? Facts? I'll go with facts.

Well for 1 probably would be better if you have built a more realistic shopping list. 2, how about including the shipping fees as Ash says most places rape you on shipping. Finally how about finding out if mbonlineparts offers price matching which most companies do. The biggest problem I've seen with many sites has been poor turnaround and customer service which is the same as what Ash just mentioned.

As I have written ad nauseum, my supplier choice for knowledge, competitive prices and no gotcha fees is
www.mymercedesparts.com

My tech hates to get the wrong parts and Jay, with 30years MB experience, at this supplier has not made a mistake yet. He even calls me if he researches my order and finds an updated part and so on. Do your own research but I don't have the time to fool around to save a few cents. Prompt, Personal service counts.

Not realistic ? It's not tire stem caps and floor mats, no. I purchased all of those parts, and a few thousands more from Parts.com. That's called "realistic". I've given plenty of real numbers here. You have not given any--not any. Now you want shipping expenses. I'm a poster on a forum sharing info. I'm not mommy. Good grief.

lol, common friends, this wasnt meant to start an argument. i just have exeriences from parts.com and a few other places as well and this site was the best to me a they also know all the part numbers and the parts themselves. with parts.com they always take my number and never call me back about my questions or the mistakes they made on my order. so finally i found out they order from mercedes of naperville and started calling them and they even said that parts.com charges higher shipping charges and they asked me to order from them directly which i did a few times until i came across this site and they were great. so everyone keep on ordering from who ever you are comfortable with i just wanted to share my experience and the fact that we a get a shipping discounr because we are mbworld.org members. if you call talk to Anne Marie, she is great and knows her stuff. they also made a small mistake on one of the clips and she over nighted it to me at absolutly no charge, they paid $45 overnight fee for a $4 clip to make sure i'm fully satisfied with their service. again my experience.

Realistically who orders all these parts at the same time. so realistically the totals and the savings are not realistic.

If you also don't include the shipping costs with the point you are trying to make, makes your point meaningless and unrealistic. You're talking about just 1 factor in shopping and have not covered all grounds to make your point.

Let's think outside the box here for a second to everything that goes into the total price and what is important to the customer.
  • A company may offer free shipping
  • A company may have a better corporate rate with UPS
  • A company may have better customer service (Some of the stores I listed have taken up to 1 week to answer questions and some don't respond at all)
  • A company may have faster turnaround and shipping
  • A company may offer price matching

So $400 dollars difference is not realistic when you don't include all the other cost factors.

To think outside of the box, first master the box. Your definition of reality evades reason. Webster's might help. No, I don't think it will.

lol, i know exactly what you mean, thats what i always look out for the shipping, they freakin get you with shipping charges man, and thats why i loved these guys on this site. i got two boxes about 5'x2' (two of them) filled with parts and they charged me $25 for shipping for the whole thing and on top of it they expressed it because they received it later than expected and wanted to meet my dealine. but again everyone has different experiences with different companies.

but here is the question: i'm about to order something from formymercedes.com. hows everyones experience with them?

william? pancho? marcusf? everyone else? any feed back is appreciated.

Have not ordered from them yet. I have them in my bookmarks because I'm interested in some interior trip upgrades.
