99CLK320,
Do you mean the lights that stay on at night after you have turned off the car? If so, I've never heard the topic discussed since I've been on this forum starting in 05. Try the Search feature.

This would probably have to be done through STAR.

I don't know how to turn only this feature on or off, but if you put your alarm in Netherlands mode (where it chirps 3 times when locking and once when locking) the security lights were also deactivated. I haven't tried yet, but supposedly the panic button on the keyfob loses functionality as well.

I want this too, but I don't think so. I read the entire owner's manual and it does not say anything other than the lights should flash X times, nothing about confirmation beep.

Re-read my post.

I can read, but this omnious "Netherlands mode" requires special computer programming stuff. It's not worth that kind of money to me to take it to someone who can do this. Most cars have a very easy way to choose whether you want it to beep or not beep for comfirmation. It is not an intended function for my USA CLK430 according to my original owner's manual which has no reference to a confirmation tone at all.

I'm a first-time Benz owner as of last week and I'm learning a lot fact...and since this is an old thread, you may or may not have figured out an answer yet - maybe this will help...

This is what works on my '00 C230 Kompressor with MANUAL head lights (i.e. there is no "automatic" function to my headlight switch):
Turn off your lights, then when you turn off the car and - BEFORE YOU OPEN THE DOOR TO EXIT - turn the ignition key back to the "On" position (you do not have to re-start the car) and then back to the "Off" position. On my car, this temporarily disables the night security / pathway illumination feature (for one time, and one time only - i.e. there is not permanent way, to my knowledge, of turning this feature off on my car). If your CLK has a manual headlight switch then I'm pretty sure this will work. If it has an "Auto" setting in the headlight switch, then simply turn the switch from "Auto" to the manual "Off" mode. One of these two techniques should work. Hope this helps...
