emergency question/help

hey everyone. i just picked up my car from the shop today after 3 weeks of getting some cosmetic work done. i filledup my gas tank and got on the freeway and it drove perfectly fine. i got home and parked it for about 30 mints then drove it again for about 10 minutes and parked and then when i left to go have dinner my gas light started blinking after i was driving for about 15 minutes. by gas light i mean the orange light that lights up when you are low on gas. my needle is showing full but the orange light started blinking(not solid but blinking. so i pulled over and shut off the car and then turned it back on right away and it went away. after driving for another 15 minutes the light started blinking again and this time the check engine light came on. so i pulled over and scanned the codes really quick and one of them was the O2 sensor which i get once in a while and the second one reads(emission system evaporater Large leak detected). i cleared the codes and left the car alone for about 30 minutes. then i started it and drove it back home for about 25 minutes and after about 5 minutes of driving the gas light started blinking again all the way home but this time no check engine light. what do you guys think this may be? the car is sitting in the garge and im not gonna drive it untill foind out if its safe or not. Thank you.

Could you have forgotten to tighten your gas cap?

Ash... did you check the lines on the Evap can itself? Maybe one has cracked with age? Im guessing its sucking too much vacuum throwing the code.

Bobby to the rescue as always, thanks brother. Im not sure where tye evap can is. I know tyere is a charcol box on the passenger side rear wheelwel area under the femder liner next to the fuel tank neck and i accidentally drilled two hole in it about a year ago but i took it apart and used some liquid plastic to seal it up an i dont smell any gas in the trunk area so im its not that. But where is the evap canister?

Sorry Ash I wont have access to my whip till Monday to verify location. Sounds like what you drilled trough is it though! For a start id verify your repair is still holding though. Sounds suspicious. Pop off one of the lines and pull vacuum... it should hold.
