Got my NEW CHROME KEY today

Just wanted to let everyone that I got the NEW CHROME Key today for my 2001 CLK55. If anyone wanted to know if it worked, it works perfect. I ordered it from Loeber Motors in Lincolnwood, IL. I had to bicker with the Parts Guy but he finally agreed and ordered it. It was 68.00 with tax. Thats right $68.00 for a key. If anyone lives in the Chicagoland area just go there and ask for Darion. Here are the part #'s

2117663606 ---- KEY STANDARD

2037665006 ---- BLADE SMART

If you don't live in the Chicagoland area then just go to OEMPARTSDIRECT dot com and cut and paste these #'s in. They will need you to fax your title or registration and Drivers Liscense in. Just some info if anyone wants the new CHROME key. You can't beat the price. You can also try different dealerships in your area, but most of the parts guys are clueless. Or they will tell you it doesn't work, or they will try to add 9999 to the end of the part #'s, and that makes the price go up. Just tell them to order it with the part #'s I've supplied, don't add the 9999 on the end. Hope this helps!!!!!! Tell them you will pre-pay and if it doesn't work you'll eat the $68 bucks, thats what I did.

Once ordered is is ready to use? You don't have to swap the insides do you? I assume not but wanted to ask. Can you show the back-side also?

Once you order it, it comes programmed ready to use. Yes you get the remote and mechanical key for that price. You can't beat that price.

So I need to order both those part no's?
one being the key to start the car (Key Standard) and the other being the key to lock the glove compartmenr (Blade Smart)

Yes order both parts. Make sure you use those part #'s. That is the blade that goes with that remote. Your old blade won't fit in the new remote. Try your dealership, but if they are too stupid, then just go to oempartsdirect dot com. It's easier, if you don't want to leave the house.

Okay on OEMPARTSDIRECT.com I entered those two and I was about to check out. Do they contact you for the Reg/DL? or do you just fax it to them.

OEMPARTSDIRECT is actually a Mercedes Benz Dealer. I think they are called Hamersley Mercedes. SO what is happening is they Oempartsdirect order the Key through Hammersley, Hammersley orders it from Mercedes in TEXAS, then the key gets shipped to Hammersely and they ship it to you. It is all legit. Does that make sense????

i didn't bother with faxing. i just scanned and attached to email and made
sure it was ATTENTION: Jamie. within hours Jaime responded and ac-
knowledged that the key was to be configured as an ADDITIONAL key....and
that he rec'd the VIN/drivers license scan. heck, i didn't even have to get
outta my fuzzy slippers and bathrobe. AND...i saved almost $150 over the
local dealer. it cant get any better!

Just keep spreading the word. No reason to pay those thieves over $200.00 for a key. Plus if you were to call 5 Stealerships, you would end up getting 5 different prices. It's Fu***** Ridiculous!!!!

According to another forum they are ranging between 10-14 days, some are even sooner. But they are getting flooded with orders in the last month.
