W208 Cab - Can't get into trunk. Whats the Way in?

Battery dead?
You can hook a jumper up to the jump point under the hood. Don't try to start the car!!!!! Then pop it electronically from inside the car or key fob. If that is a no go as was my case. Gonna have to get your trunk drilled. (assuming its a cab) my bad.

Battery is OK. Car runs fine. Roof stopped working a while back.
Wonder if a micro switch is faulty but can't get in to investigate.
Any ideas?

Top is up or down? Assuming its up. None of the electronic methods work? Cockpit switch or key fob?
If not you are very probably SOL.
Cost me $800 at the MB dealer to have my locks drilled and replaced.
If your mech key inserts and turns. Then locks at "12 and 6 o'clock" then you are screwed.
If you just can't get it inserted. Keep trying. It's a pain. Took me about 45 mins. 2 guys and a pair of channel locks.

You can get into the trunk through the back seat to press the inside release. I only recomend as a last resort if the lock cannot be turned. Its a pain but better than shelling out $$ to have the lock drilled. Ive written up before but basically you will need to access between the hatch and the top of the seat. Best to remove the seat for better access. Raise the hatch about an inch to insert a pole. You'll need to knock the luggage cover out of the way if its in place. Then you should see the green glow of the button. It's tricky to get the angle on the button but it works.
