Exclamation 1999 clk 320 running bad

Hi All
Can anyone give me some advise, I had to remove the battery from my car to charge it, now the car runs bad, it starts fine but I cant accelerate and there isnt any power there, it seems the response from the accelarator is not there, Ive experianced simalar problems before, when the vehicle had been left standing for a couple of weeks, but always seem to sort its self out after a few minutes, but not this time, i,ve tried cleaning the MAF after reading some of the posts in this forum, anyone got any ideas? is there some reset I need to do after taking the battery out? many thanks in advance.
Mark

It sounds like the car is in limp-home mode. Try disconnecting the battery for about 10 min. or so, and see if that clears it.

How old is the battery? It may be due for replacement. ECUs have been known to perform strangely in low votage situations.

hi Marcus
thanks for the reply, battery is less than a year old, I'm suspecting MAF problem, I've tried the ECU reset which has been suggested on this forum but think there is to large a difference between MAF and ECU to get a good set up, I've cleaned the MAF n it was slightly better but not drivable,
anyone suggest otherwise
thanks

99CLK320,
if you decide to replace the MAF you can order the sensor element alone from autohausaz.com Call them because you can 't find it on their online catalog. It is a Bosch part and, if you have the safety torquex(sp?) drives, the ones with the holes in the center, you can change it out yourself and won't have to spend as much for the entire MAF= housing and element.
