clk430 ec button problem

Hi everybody,

I am new here
I have a clk430 2000 coupe, and recently I have a problem with ec button on it's ac climate controller; when I start the car the ec button is on and by pressing the button it won't get off, but if I turn the car off and again turn it on it will be off.

I was just wondering did anyone else face this problem, and does anybody know what is the solution?

Replacing the climate control unit is not necessary. You can take the unit apart and fix the broken tab on the inside. I did this to multiple buttons that were not working and save myself the $800 everyone quoted.

PM if you need more information.

I apologize as the answer i gave before was if the button connection was broken.
I am now experiencing the same exact problem. It turns on by itself and can only be turned off by restarting the car...

If anyone knows what the problem here is, Im all ears!
