Rocker clips (side skirts)

Hey guys, i been trying like crazy to find these clips. There for a 2001 clk430 or 55 rocker panel (sideskirts). I went to the dealer and their not sure but they ordered some in to try. The diagrams i been looking at dont help much. I have tried searching here and googling using differnt part numbers and none of them match up. Does anyone have any or know where to get them. Please help so i can put these on my car and i can drive her again. Thanks Lorenz

You don't have a single one on a skirt now to look at? A few weeks ago I had my indy tighten up my right one because I happened to brush my leg against it when I had the passenger door open and it moved. When I reached down to feel it I could tell it was about ready to fall off but it didn't look it. He had it up on a rack and I got a chance to see how it attaches. These are not simple clips that you push in with the palm of your hand, they have a head on them that you turn with a tool. I didn't count them but it looked like there were 5 or 6 and in my case the skirt was only being held by 2 of them. What caused it to come loose was the rubber stop that's used for the jack behind the front wheel was missing on both sides. He thinks someone needed to jack up the front of the car, that thing was missing so the jack pressed against the moulding and popped several of those fasteners. Luckily he happened to have exactly two of those stops in his shop and sold them to me for $12. Those rubber stops fit very tightly so how did the car manage to lose both of them? Who knows, another mystery of the universe.

Jazz, what u see in the pics above are just a couple of the clips i need but their broke. I may have solved my problem here cuz i went to the dealer and they ordered some clips in and they look like the right ones only a little longer. If it all works out im going to post pics of the clips with their part numbers.

ok guys heres some parts numbers and pics of some of the clips for clk320 and clk430 rocker panels. Ill do my best here. The white clip, which is the top clip is part number 009-988-41-78 fits the 320 and 430. The 2 large black clips, which are the bottom clips are part numbers for each clip is 009-988-42-78 and 009-988-43-78 and that also fits a 320 and 430. The clip that looks like a T and mounts on the inside rail of the rocker is part number 001-988-36-81 and only fits a 430. The other part that goes along with the T clip looks like the hollow end of a bullet is part number 001-988-76-81, sorry i dont have that pic. Hope this helps

That diagram makes it easy to see how it fits. It's obvious now how mine came loose because the rubber stop for the jacking point was missing and the jack would definitely catch the bottom of the skirt and pop those fasteners. When you put your skirts on make sure those rubber things are there. They're pretty big, about 4" across and maybe 2" high, high enough so the jack plate clears the skirt.
