air mass sensor
any suggestions on where i can buy a sensor without spending the 200 or so grom mercedes? local garage seem to think this is causing the problem but cant garuantee it.

AutohausAZ has brand new Bosch units for $150. Some people on ebay sell them, but if the seal on the box is broken, you may not be happy with the MAF

autohausaz.com also has the MAF sensor that can be bought separately but you have to call and ask for it and it does cost less than the entire housing and sensor. I could never find it on the website. You have to have a saftey 1/4" torque drive(there is a hole in the center of the drive) to remove the sensor from the housing. It is really very simple.
