1999 CLK430 - Turning off auto climate control
ok folks,
I've RTFM already.
I thought to turn the auto climate control off I can just press the auto button and the red led on it would turn off. Doesn't seem like it works that way.
I have to click on the manual fan button for it to turn off auto mode.
Is that normal?
I'm just looking for a simple way to not freeze my ***** off everytime I turn on the car (sure I can turn up the temperature and I can shut the vents). But is there an easier way?

press ECON button to turn the a/c off. Turn the fan speed all the way down to turn off the whole thing fan and a/c.
when you press the auto mode, both fan speed and air vent are decided by the computer. if you then adjust the fan speed, only the air vent will remain controlled by the auto mode (LED light will still be on). By adjusting the air vent outlet, it will change to manual mode (LED will go out)
