Broken Lamp message....

Broken Lamp message....
I get this broken lamp message on my little console screen sometimes. All my lamps seem to be in order. I've noticed that both times it has done it, it was an extremely hot day. Has anyone else experienced this?

I've had this same problem. Mine is a '99 and I think I've read about the '98s and '99s having a lot of electrical issues.
Mine comes on each and every time I switch on the lights (as soon as I get to the parking light level). I have checked and all lights are working. I too am over this. I will check out the "filaments" but I may need some help on figuring out what this is. I will also check the rear bulb fittings, hope this helps.

Be careful!
Wear gloves, nowadays you should never touch the bulb.
The oils on your skin stay on the glass and can cause the bulb to get too hot and break.
If you have Xenon lights, the ballest or control unit is easily damaged by bumping or something hitting it. They are very sensitive.
I got the "Light Malfunction" message. When mine went out under warranty, the Service wright said the part cost $750.00.
Just wanted to let ya know,
Tim
