Question Changing the AGR Exhaust Valve W208 Cabri

Hi, i have an emissions problem causing then engine light to stay on. I was told it was a sensor located in the left rear tire area. I did not have them fix the problem as I would like to try & repair.

Anyone have this type of problem?

could be several things however, if it happened all of a sudden and the car still runs fine, it may be the MAF sensor under the air box it being dirty and that will cause the CEL to come on... now would be a good time to invest $100 for a fault code scanner.. its a useful tool to have. Good luck

Was planning on cleaning the MAF along with changing the air filters, thanks for the tip, will look into investing in a fault reader. Is there one out there you would recommend in that price range that would do the job?

Again thanks for replying

No prob.. happy to help. Just Google OBD2 scanner.. there are literally hundreds of options.. and ya, a $30 one will do the job..Just thinking out loud, but while ur under the hood change, out ur crank position sensor.. its on the list of things that fail on the W208 and easy to change out ( with the proper torx socket, I forget the size) . Mine crapped out at 60k miles, its a $20-$30 part from Autohauz.com
