Question How much mod to fit these tires???

Ok, I know its been discussed and it has been decided that 235/35/19 & 265/30/19 is the best combo for staggered tire sizes for the CLK in the 19" application without major modifications to the fenderwell.... fender rolling would constitute minor...

BUT, if one opts for the 245 & 275 setup... how much modification will I need?

Ben and dronellis, you two have this setup, correct? How much work did it need? And was your setup 245/35 & 275/30 OR... 245/40 & 275/35???

Thanks,
Danny

I had 275/35 set up on my 320, and there wasn't any rubbing problems with the fenders rolled. I was using nitto's too, which I am told are the worst tires for tight fits.

TNH, is your car lowered? If it is WOW, you are very lucky.

MMGRAD, I would refer you to A1 Autobody to do the work. The feel of 245/275 vs 235/265 is definitely worth it, but be prepared for a lot of work to make it fit.

TNH, so were you running 245/40 Front & 275/35 Rear???

How much lower is your car from stock... I lowered my car 2", and, if changing my pads will prevent rubbing as in your case, maybe I'll live with having the car a little higher...

Ben, how much work are we talking about? Is it just better to run 235/35 & 265/30 based on the cost of the body work???

IMO, I dont think that 245/40 and 275/35 would be a good setup for your car. 245/35 and 275/30 might be better for your car. I tried the 245/35 and 275/30 but the front tires just too close to the fender. Didn't get the chance to drive it though coz it was rubbing badly (inner rubbing) in the front and rear. Put some spacers and the tires will stick out.

Good luck

TNH are you running 19" or 18" with those size because I do not see how 275/35/19 can fit on a lowered CLK with little rubbing. 275/35/18 yes but definately not 275/35/19.
