2006 CLK 350/. 2009 CLK 350/2005 Both White
Gear selector removal

I am trying to replace my reverse switch becasue I get he bulb warning error, I need info on how to get to the reverse switch and take apart the selector panel without cracking it....I have look all over the internet for info or pics

The black surround around the shift column simply lifts/pries out. ...easies to grab on front edge...watch finger nails when pulling. Once that is out, grab front edge of wood panel and pull...a few clips are holding it. Once that is lifted, you have to maneuver it to disconnect the wiring.....total time above 1 minute.

A bit confused

The "black thing" you mean the molding on the over all console then lift the wood bezel assembly?

The black thing is the molding. It is just tightly fit down into the wood. It's about 1/2 inch deep. After that is out, it is easy to just pop up the front of the wood. Redw's thread above should answer anything from there.

I got out now I need to figure out the location and removal of the switch ..I bought a torx set on ebay today ...
