Just got my 430 Cab, hello everyone.

Hi fellow board member, I just recieved my 430 cab today and I love it. It's a 2000 430 silver with black intereor. I am very happy with the car and it's just a pure blast driving that thing around town.

How ever I am experiencing some of the most common electrical problems on clks that has been discussed on this forum. I noticed that my car sporadically would do:
-the windows roll down 1/2" even as I asked it to roll to the top.
-console reporting defects on lamp when the lights are perfectly ok. And stopped reporting it the next time I turn them on.

These cases seem to be sporadic and no way to consistently reproduce them. Since I only have 4k left on the OEM warranty, what should i say to the dealer to make sure these problems are fixed? Is there a central CPU with some buggy firmware that they can reflash or even replace? What did the dealer do to fix some of the member's electrical problems?

Thanks a bunch and looking forward to share more exciting times ahead.

James.

With respect to your window problem...the control unit should be replaced.

You should be able to reset the window for full closure as follows.....move window all the way up and continue to hold the switch on for at least 10 seconds....then move the window all the way down and continue to hold switch on for at least 10 seconds.

However if you don't replace the control unit you will have to do perform this reset process many times in the future.
