Finally got the CLK 55 WOW
I have asked several wheels questions and now I have one more: What offsets would work on 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 back. My wheel shop is worried about clearing the front calipers.
And I know this topic is probably old but what performance options are there around the $2000 range? My search button doesnt work for some reason.
THanks...
I finally got my car this morning I am very happy to say the least. but now for the modifications!

proper offset is 35, what rims are you looking at?
with $2000 to spend towards performance, if you are looking for horsepower, id go with some EvoSport underdrive pulleys (good for 13 hp to the wheels and an ECU upgrade from Powerchips (also available from EvoSport). if youre looking for performance upgrades not just consisting of horsepower, suspension upgrades on your car will change the whole feel of your car. there are many different options with suspension, Kleemann being the superior (but more than $2K). I really like the feel of H&R springs with Koni adjustable shocks. I hope other guys here will give their opinions on suspension also so you can decide based on everything whats the best for you.
Good Luck and welcome officially!
Eric
With the rest of the money, I say, get a high flow exhaust... an Eisenmann Race exhaust will add some nice sound effects, though performance gains aren't going to be great though... very minimal if any.
Suspension will be good, but the AMG suspension ain't that bad...
Maybe, you can try a little ECU remapping... get rid of that pesky speed limiter...
