2001 CLK430
Clear Check Engine Light
Just replaced CPS and don't have scanner to clear the CEL. Can I diconnect the positive battery cable and leave over night. Will the computer reset itself. Any info help would be great. Don't want to take to dealer. Thanks

I've heard you can but it's never worked with me and my mechanic has told me, with most faults, once it's on it's on until reset with the OBD scanner.
