Terry,

Unfortunately, the lack of response was more than likely due to your choice of the subject title.

The forum 'search function' is your friend.

You will find pretty much everything you need pertaining to convertible roof repairs, that members have contributed through the years.

For example open the following link:

http://www.tophydraulicsinc.com/en/c...y-instructions

Then scroll down to the W208 topic and click on:

Sounds like the roof relay has gone, mine did the same (not the motor running) clicked but nothing happened, i got a new one from Merc for about £12 I think, the danager could be the motor may have burned out, however it was still running when you pulled the fuse may be OK,

The relay is next to the pump, but you need to remove the metal panel to access it not hard but a bit of the pain, I'd recomend some trim removal tools to pop the trim pins off

hi and thank-you for your reply ,yes the motor was running when i took the fuse out i left,
it a day went back to it and put the fuse back in and the motor was quiet ,started the car up,
and the rear head rest went up and now they wont come down all i hear is a clicking noise,
think i will have to book it in to merc garage as i am no good at car repair and see how much they will charge me to put in on there star -indie diagnostics regards terry and thank-you.

No probs just be a bit careful as I had the roof codes read at an local garage with the correct kit (£45) and it said something like "low power to motor" and this could send them off in the wrong direction,

The fact the motor didn't turn off means the relay is def a gonner and should be replaced straight away before it burns the motor out, not that its working away

If you look in the boot at the back there's carpet, remove this and then the metal cover has about 20 nuts and its behind there - I would guess an hours labour,
