Who's spring pad picture?
About a month ago, I was searching this forum for spring pad pictures. I downloaded a few and I changed the names so I could identify them later. I found this one, I remember it was from a CLK, can anyone identify the photo?
If so, I was wondering about the spring compressors used in the picture. They look like the external type, with two seperate threaded rods. Were you able to get the springs out of the car with this type of spring compressor? Or were you only able to exchange the spring pads? Also, did you use the compressors on the rear springs?
Sorry for all the questions, I am ready to do my E-class and I doing my research.
Thanks in advance,
Rob Lee

Yes. From other posts about this subject, the +$500 factory style, internal spring compressor, seems to be the best way. Another forum user, scorchie, indicated that he could remove the front springs in about 10 minutes. When I was found this picture, I noticed, what looks like, external spring compressors. I have these already. If I don't hear back from the picture owner, I guess I can try. I only want to change the spring pads, but if you can get the coil out too, this would be a bonus!

maybe once you complete it, you can help other members on the forum install suspension pieces... make a few bucks on the side... or you can do it outta the kindness of your heart... hehehe..
