CLK 320 Convertible
CLK 320 MAF or not MAF ?

Hi

I am new to this forum - have just got a 2000 CLK convertible to replace my old C250D, which was a great car.

So not long after getting the CLK which have the 3.2 V6 in it, I started to give symptoms which seemed to suggest the MAF sensor. (lump throttle response, which woudl suddenly clear to allow the car to rev up freely- plus problems pulling away, juddering at a snails pace when you did)

I got a genuine Bosch MAF from Euro car parts (only £140 in the BH sale) also replaced the airfilter. - problem seemed to have gone - but has come back now twice.

All faults go away when you recycle the ignition (turn it on and off again )

- so I am getting a chap out to plug in (£30) and clear fault codes and tell me which ones are showing .... yes should of done this before buying the expensive MAF. but lesson learned !

I will update as to help other and the like - but I have now been told could be throttle position sensor or even a gear box sensor holding it in gear? !
