Can someone please help me in figuring out how to get my A/C working. The EC light is on and I was told that it needed to be off for the A/C to work. Someone told me to put the A/C in diagnostics mode and write down the numbers so here they are if it will help you figure it out:

1: 106
2: 68
3: 104
4: 104
5: 101
6: 199
7: 8
8: 117

Please Help! Thanks!!

A lot of threads on this topic.

Most likely your freon is low. # 7 is your freon and anything below 10 is considered "low".

Mine was about the same when my light went on. I took it to a shop who then added some Dye to check for leaks. After finding no leaks they Re Charged the freon. EC light is now gone and AC blows cold.

Awesome thank you! Do you know around how much that is? Do you have to go to the shop?

I know the owners of my show so my price wouldn't be fair to post.
Yes you have to go to a shop. I would estimate no more than $80 to recharge the Freon.

Make sure the shop does Full AC Repairs and have them add Dye to see if there is a leak.

You wouldn't want to refill it just to have it all leak out. Freon isnt cheap hah.

You cant without having it fixed. The EC light shuts off the ac to protect your Compressor. If that goes its big bucks!

You should be fine with a recharge though, figuring you don't have a leak.

Go pick up a quick charge can with hose and pressure gauge for 45 bucks ($35 + $10 core) and fill. A common misconception is that Air Conditioners are a sealed system and never need charging unless you have a leak, well, that simply isn't true. All systems leak as the compressor seal is designed to let a minute amount out to keep the front seal lubricated / conditioned. Normally, it's such a small amount, it doesn't show up for years, recharging after 10-13 years isn't really that out of the ordinary. I'm sure I'm going to get flamed up here about "sealed systems" but I know people who actually professionally re-build compressors, and that's what I've been told by more than one.

To reset fault codes:

In fault code mode press both AUTO
switches simultaneously for more than 5 seconds (after last troublecode is displayed)
Once codes are cleared you will see display change to "d and FF"
Switch ignition OFF All Codes are erased.
