I have a 2000 CLK 320 and the top will not go down. The switch in the console that operates the top is not flashing and the reservoir in the trunk is full. When you pull the button to lower the top I can see that the back deck is starting to move but stops almost immediately. When releasing the switch the back deck comes back to its resting position (closed) Any ideas as to why the top will not go down? Thanks for any help you can pass my way!

Top Hydraulics

I don't fully understand the description of the problem. Does anything else move before the back deck does, and is the back deck pulling down or lifting up?

After unlocking the top and pulling the switch to activate the top, the windows all go down the headrests go down and the back deck looks like is tries to pivot down. The front of the deck starts to go down and the back starts to move upwards. It has been a while since I have put the top down but it appears as it is trying to pivot and move out of the way so that there is room for the soft top to move into the trunk area.
