Yet another W208 roof problem - body cover stuck
Hi all.
Had a good look round and couldn't find anything related to my CLK's roof's particular problem. Basically the roof's body cover does not lift out of the way.
The back part of the roof lifts but the body cover stays put.
The pump runs and the fluid level is fine. The rear headrests rise and fall ok.
Is it common for the cover to jam?
Before I go in killing body trim clips I thought I'd ask if anyone has seen this issue before.
Cheers.
Paul.

It looks like you are trying to lower your roof. The rear bow lock 1247500426 releases, the rear bow raises using rear bow cylinders 2088000172, and that's where the process stops. The storage cover (also known as case cover or tonneau cover) will not unlock and raise.
The soft top controller needs to know that one step is completed before it starts the next one. The signal for the rear bow being up would be coming from switch s84/15 on the left rear bow cylinder. See below:
I would try to figure out first if that switch p/n 2088202310 is working.
Please let us know what you find.
