Newbie with some issues
Hello,
The other day I purchased a 2000 Mercedes Benz CLK200K Coupe Automatic 140k mls, lovely car - always liked the look of them, runs perfectly.
There's just a few small issues I'd like to ask about to see if anybody else has had a similar experience.
1) My cruise control works fine when pushing the lever up and down, but when I push to try activate the speed limiter it says 'Speedtronic - take to workshop' on the instrument panel.
2) The engine management light sometimes comes on, with the error of 'Fuel Mixture too rich' or something along those lines, ..a local indie MB specialist reset the error code and the light went off, but after approx 150 miles the engine management light came back on producing the same code... The performance or economy of the car hasn't been affected at all and it runs perfectly. I was advised it may be a sensor?
3) I have the manual climate control dials, and earlier today when I was driving and turned the heater fan to maximum it was about 30 seconds before the air started coming out?
Was just wondering if anybody else has had any of these issues, but apart from that - lovely car, excellent conditions, runs a treat.

I bought an error code reader today and read the code before clearing it... The code is P1070 Fuel Trim Bank 1.... any ideas on what this could be and how to remedy it? also thanks for the previous comment above, much appreciated

MBWorld Fanatic!
Did you mean p0170 or p1070
Faulty maf usually shows p0170 and/or p0173 (e.g. a fuel trim bank).
Google or search this forum on the code for more information.

There are three tests to run on the automatic climate control - Error Codes, AC diagnosis, and Vent Diagnosis. Lots of threads here (and helpful videos) about running these, and frequent remarks about replacing the Blower Motor Regulator.
I haven't seen any remarks about manual controls, but you may want to search for old threads using terms for the three kinds of tests. Good Luck, and report back what you find.
