Smell identified.....
No oil level warning lamp has illuminated.
My questions are:
1. would the mechanics have caused this whilst changing the plugs?
2. is it an easy DIY job?
3. If it is a DIY job, are there any special tools required
4. How much does it normally cost for a garage to perform such a task (replace the gasket)?
Note that the car is around 120K miles so is this something that is normal anyhow?
Thanks.
2. Depends on the owner. Many people could.
3. A torque wrench, but many just use a ratchet.
4. Depends on the shop.
Many CLK owners report failures earlier. Many never have a valve gasket failure.
