yikes!
my friend has a 2000 528i and is having major electrical problems in his car. it se3ms that water has gotten into the relays and corroaded everything. the dealer says that it is not worth fixing and that he should get rid of the car.
i have a 2000 clk430 and am now scared that something like this could happen to my car. i know that it is not a bmw but i am getting very paranoid.
does anyone know any preventative measures i can take to avoid his situation. any tips would be great.

That's a flood damaged car he has there...
Unless the car was involved in a flood (i.e. insurance write off) it should not have experienced those problems. How long has he had it and who did he buy it from?
