Going for warranty check up..question?

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

I have 46K on the clock and want to take it in for a final check up. Any words of wisdom on what I should say to them so that they do a complete look over?

Also anything I should mention when I make the appointment would be good to know.

Thanks,
Benzino

the only thing i could recommend is that, if there was ever ANYTHING you wanted to complain about, but thought it was too minor to do so, DO IT...

its pretty much your last chance...

Well, they fixed a couple of things, but they wouldnt fix my cup holder which comes up slow at best, and the ash tray door doesnt track properly. Do you know where I can get MB parts to replace those things I mentioned above?

Thanks...

WTF? What dealer are you going to? I had both replaced under warranty at about 20,000 miles. If you havent't done so already, get them to do the last free service. Try to get them to change brake fluid, radiator fluid and spark plugs. Alone these run about $300-400 each. Once you are over 4 years and 50,000 miles, you are SOL and all out of pocket.

that is complete BS....

that should all be covered by the warranty... i complainted about my cup holder be a little sticky (slow moving), i got a new one...

my ash tray got used (argh....) and was dirty, then, cause the door to open slowly... they replaced everything underneath except the door...

find another dealer or go talk to the service manager...

Thanks for the reply, let me add more to the story. I bought this car off of a friend who told me that it still had a warranty. Anyhow, the freakin thing expired 12/31/03. I took it in on Saturday 01/03/04. Talk about crap luck. Luckly my friend had the plugs and all of the fluids changed about 4 months ago. He didnt drive it much. The dealer fixed a few of the major things like the seat belt, etc, but because he didnt have parts for the ashtray and cup holder they couldnt do it. I guess I should be happy for what they did.

So now, I need those parts. Any help would be great....

The dealer should still be able to fix everything under warranty. They make exceptions all the time when the date is that close. Hell, sometimes it takes 2-3 weeks just to get an appointment. Call them back and tell them to fix it or you will give them POOR marks on the MB Service Survey you will receive shortly. Get tough and stand your ground.

Check if your wood trim on the dashboard is loose!

Air Mass sensor should be checked too.

thats still bogus... 3 days after warranty expires should be no problem... customer relations is key for repeat business...

they normall do what they call 'good will' service for cars with warranties that JUST expired... but, that depends on the advisor you get... most will do it though...

sorry to hear your advisor isn't as helpful as others...

im going in for my end of warranty fix everything visit here in about a week, ive got a list of stuff to fix, curious if any of you guys have had these problems so as to perhaps be able to tell them exactly what to fix, because usually if i dont tell them exactly, they wont fix anything....

- too much negative camber issue in the rear (its been discussed here, ill let them handle that)

- chirping sound from the center A/C vent area. fairly constant.

- passenger door makes a ****ton on squeaking (assume something is loose)

- over-revving sometimes on crank, sometimes up to 3000rpm (a fuel problem? i dont know, think i could get new spark plugs out of that problem?)

i think thats it....

TIA
