Question Wheels - Opinions/Suggestions

I know this comes up a lot so I'm sorry to beat a dead horse. I
have a plain Jane, CLK 320 2002, Brilliant Silver, no mods. It's time to replace the tires and I was thinking of using this opportunity to upgrade to 17" rims/tires. Two issues: I can't spend the big bucks (no more than $2000 w/ tires) and I don't want it to be too flashy (I use the car mostly for business).

Should I (1) just replace my tires, (2) buy the mercedes 17" 5 spoke style E for $350/rim, or (3) buy an aftermarket rim that would need to be classy looking? I don't know sh*& from shinola when I look at the wheels on these tire/rim web sites and I don't want to cheapen the car by buying cheap no-name rims. Somebody please help with suggestions.....

Many thanks in advance.
