17x8.5 w/ +30 offset wheels up front...

Are there any issues with running a 17x8.5 wheel up front?

Anybody ever installed their rear wheels in front or had 17x8.5 wheels all around?

I'm talking about OE AMG wheels with specifications of 17x8.5 w/ +30 offset.... which is typically the rear wheel.

I'm just a little concerned about the offset... with that offset, will I have any clearance problems with my front fenders? The rear fenders will obviously be fine...

The reason I ask is because I was considering keeping one of my rear wheels as a spare so it looks more uniform with my 19s in case i get a flat... I know I could use the 17x7.5 wheel, but, the rear wheel has a better looking lip... hehehe stupid reason, i know...

Thanks guys...

Stats for comparison....

Here are some comparison stats:

WHEEL A 17x7.5 w/+37 offset - stock front
WHEEL B 17x8.5 w/+30 offset - stock rear
WHEEL C 17/18/19x8.5 w/+35 offset - imaginary wheel

ok, if we upgrade from WHEEL A to WHEEL C, I should have no problems since the recommended offset for aftermarket wheels is +35mm

Comparing WHEEL B with WHEEL C, WHEEL B will only stick out an additional 5mm.... Do you think this extra 5mm will cause any fender contact?

Btw, my car is lowered an overall of 2"....

Danny,

I think the rear stock tires would stick out too much for the front.
Probably you could fir the rear wheel to the front but you might have to change the tires.
That's what I thought.

Re: Stats for comparison....

This kind of off topic, but so the 430 has offset of 37mm on the front and the rear is 30mm?

what about the 320? 37mm all around?

can't say for sure... you can check the technical specs section of your manual and it will say what the sizes & offsets are...
