How to replace the MB star on trunk with aftermarket logo?

How to replace the MB star on trunk with aftermarket logo?
I was having trouble taking out the MB star logo on the trunk of my CLK320, F1 MotorSport in North Hollywood told me that I would need to have some bodywork inside the trunk in order to change the emblem(such as Carlsson,Brabus), is this correct?

Has anybody changed his already? Thanks in advance.

Cayenne GTS, Cayenne Turbo
All I know is that it's held by three grommets. You will probably need to access the grommets from the inside of the trunk.
