help convertable top stuck
i have an 02 CLK 430 and i stopped the top while it was going down. the deck lid closed but the rear of the top wont lock in. It wont go either up or down and the trunk will not open either. is there any way to reset this function.

You should be able to interrupt the power roof operation, without causing a problem, while either opening or closing the roof.
There is an safety interlock between power roof and truck. If the roof is not properly open or closed. To keep the the various lids from colliding, the truck can not be opened. Likewise, if the trunk is open, the power roof will not operate. This is covered in the owner's manual.
Sounds like your rear bow lock got out of kilter.
You can try the subsequent locking procedure that MB built into system. Basically, this operates just the soft top clover and rear bow locks again. The procedure has been posted numerous times in this forum.
Using the special wrench in your tool kit, you can open or close the roof manually. Basically, you release the hydraulic pressure and open/close the cover and bow locks using the tool. Details of the procedure are explained in your owner's manual. You'll need access to the trunk, so you'll have to use the mechanical key to open it.
If neither the subsequent locking or opening and closing the roof manually, resynchronizes the roof operation, check that you have the proper hydraulic pump fluid level. The case cover and rear bow locks are operated via hydraulic cylinders, which commonly leak.
