Weather stripping around the convertible top / window
So mine got lil dry and old and started to leak water when I took my car at the carwash (Using jet water).. I went to the dealer and the section for my front window 1 side, they quoted me $287.00 per side per window and the lil windows around 200 or so roughly $1000 for rubber weather stripping...
I could not find em online anywhere.. This guy at track auto told me to buy this grease from the HONDA dealership called SHIN ETSU, I found it on ebay and I ordered one brand new.... This grease, will make your rubber so wet and fresh looking and most important thing PLUMPY aka no more leakage in the car.
1) Wear your gloves.
2) Rub the white grease all over the Weather stripping back and forth (MULTIPLE TIME) .
3)Let it sit over night and crack the window lil bit.
4)Next day wipe the grease with a paper towel and give it 4 -5 days and u will notice the rubber becomes wet looking and plumpy.
Ps: the grease was about $25

I had a driver quarter window molding leaking and torn. $80.00 for a 11 inch piece of rubber.
Petroleum lubricants including oil and grease will swell the rubber and eventually eat away at it. weaken it in a bad way.
Good to see this method used in a constructive way but it might be an accelerator to more problems, A silicon based grease might be the ticket as well.

I am glad you found something that helps,
Some lubricants from the past were banned because of whale oil process but it was the best on earth. Some foreign countries still use it though. I don't condone what works because it just become waste if not utilized.
I may try the Honda grease myself one day.
Cheers
