I bought my 2004 CLK 550 in 2008 (32K miles then, 66K miles now) and within a year had to replace the windshield as a crack appeared near center from top of frame. About 6 months ago, another crack appeared from top of frame and it took me a while to get replaced, but finally did so last week....drove to work on friday and discovered crack is back? Any ideas what could be causing this crack? Need to take it back to my wonderful mechanic and don't know what to say...

Couple of things - this is the W208 section and only covers CLK coupes through 2002 and cabriolets through 2003. You may wish to post this in the W209 section which covers 2003 - 2008 CLKs. There were no CLK550s in 2004, only 500's and 55's. Lastly, if the same guy replaced my glass twice and it broke in the same place each time, I'd find another glass guy. Absolute lastly, my glass has been replaced twice. Each time was due to stone chips. Safelite does a pretty good job, and each time my auto insurance has paid the entire bill.
